Cello, piano, barock cello, chamber and orchestra music.

Studied in Vienna, Graz/Exp. Oberschützen and Detmold obtaining diverse diploma qualifications.

Teachers include: F. Kitt, H. Ossberger, K. Georgian, H. Suzuki, A. Bylsmer, etc.

Member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra since 27 years.

Barock cellist in numerous Ensembles including

L’Orfeo Linz, Bach Consort Vienna, Les Musiciennes Du Louvre, Concentus Musicus.

Familiar with the broad spectrum of barock to contemporary music with a fascination for theater.

Teaches at the Music school Vienna and at the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna.

Melissa Coleman

Born in Melbourne, Australia.

Studied at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne obtaining a Diploma of Arts in Music. 1990 – Awarded the Peers Cotemore Scholarship from VCA 1991 – Masterclasses in London.

Since 1992 Melissa Coleman has lived in Vienna and performs and tours as soloist, chamber and ensemble musician in renowned classical, modern, jazz and world music festivals throughout the world. Participation in well-known classical, avant-garde jazz and world music festivals worldwide.

She also works with music concept, as a composer, arranger and experimental improviser together with individual artists, modern dance, theater productions (Burg Theater Vienna) and multimedia projects.Melissa Coleman has recorded over 50 CDs with diverse ensembles and bands since living in Vienna.

Born in Traunstein, Germany

Studied classical cello at the Mozarteum Salzburg und the Music University Vienna; Jazz cello und improvisation at the Anton Bruckner Private University, Linz.

Member of several ensembles with an emphasis of classical und historical performance practice (Wiener Akadmie, Ensemble Prisma) and contemporary and improvised music (Vienna Improvisors Orchestra, Fraufeld). Jazz with Karl Ratzer & Peter Herbert.

Collaboration with authors, poets and cabaret artists including (Franz Schuh, Linde Prelog, Durs Grünbein, Elfriede Gerstl).

Composer, arranger and founder of eXtracello and the Tyrolean Chamber Orchestra InnStrumenti.

Gudula Urban

Cello, vocals

Born in Vienna, Austria.

Studied music at the University of Music Vienna, Mozarteum Salzburg and with a scholarship at Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore, USA.

Numerous solo and chamber music concerts in Austria, USA and Asia mit Stefan Mendl, Julius Tilghman and piano trio – Trio Vivo, Vienna u.a.

Worldwide tours with Volksoper Wien, Camerata Salzburg with Sandor Vegh, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Vienna Chamber orchestra.

Intensive studies in the field of jazz and free improvisation as cellist and singer.

Individual projects include: Gudula Urban & Band, Urban Shoe, FREi!,

Debut Album: smile on my face 2004.
